Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered into a search tool is transmitted to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query under its own terms and returns any result through its service. Covington County Court Docket does not maintain a separate database of the search terms entered into those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email or other direct correspondence may be retained so it can be read and answered. It is not sold or intentionally disclosed outside the organization except when disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the resource and its users.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine web-server and service logs can record technical information associated with a visit, including:
- The IP address used for the connection
- Browser type, version, and device operating system
- Pages requested and approximate time spent on them
- The referring site or link, when available
- Dates and times of page requests
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics services may be used to understand traffic, performance, and general navigation patterns. A browser can usually block or remove cookies through its settings. Some functions supplied by outside services may work differently when cookies are disabled.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and correspondence information may be used for ordinary operation of the resource.
- Keeping pages available and improving load performance
- Directing a submitted search request to the selected partner service
- Understanding aggregated use of pages and features
- Investigating technical errors and security concerns
- Supporting advertising or referral relationships where applicable
No Court-Record Data on File
Covington County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It supplies general routing information for official Covington County record holders, including the Thirteenth Circuit Court District, clerks, the public calendar, and Mississippi Electronic Courts. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and site activity is not assembled into consumer reports about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside providers operate search boxes and related services. Information entered into a provider's tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention practices, pricing, and terms. PAMEC/MEC is an official court-access route with its own registration, subscriber, and judiciary policies; it is not operated by this private resource.
Links to Other Websites
Links can lead to clerks, court portals, the Mississippi Electronic Courts system, state agencies, and other outside services. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the destination's privacy notice and terms control that visit. Review the destination's policy before submitting personal information or a record request.
Advertising or analytics providers may use their own technologies to measure activity across sites. Their data practices are controlled by those providers rather than by Covington County Court Docket.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information can be processed by parties needed to operate the resource or meet a legal obligation.
- Search providers handling a query entered into their tool
- Analytics or hosting services used for traffic and performance measurement
- Advertising providers that serve material on the resource
- Government or law-enforcement authorities responding to a valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information handled by the resource. No internet-connected system can guarantee complete security. Visitors should avoid placing Social Security numbers, financial-account information, full birth dates, home addresses, or minor-identifying information in an email or unverified form.
Users Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal information from children. If information from a person under 18 is received directly, it may be removed when appropriate. Youth Court and other restricted case records require special care and must be directed to the responsible court or clerk rather than submitted here.
Your Data Rights
For direct correspondence, a person may ask what identifying information has been provided to this resource, request a correction, or ask for deletion where retention is not required. These are resource practices, not a claim that Mississippi has a general consumer-data statute that creates those rights. The Mississippi Public Records Act, Title 25, Chapter 61 is the relevant state public-records reference for many public bodies, but judiciary records follow applicable court rules and PAMEC or judiciary policy rather than ordinary public-body access procedures.
- Ask what direct correspondence is retained
- Request correction of inaccurate contact information
- Request deletion of direct correspondence when no legal retention need applies
- Choose not to submit information to a third-party search provider
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised when the resource's practices or linked-service relationships change. A revised version will be posted with a new effective date.
